Procedure
- Place 1–2 teaspoons of dried leaf or one larger sprig of fresh mint in a cup.
- Pour about 250 ml of water at roughly 90–95 °C, then cover.
- Steep 5–8 minutes and strain. For a milder flavour, shorten the steep — peppermint can be quite intense.

Notes
If you have reflux or are sensitive to menthol, consider limiting use; not a substitute for medical care.
Why it works
The HMPC monograph on peppermint mentions traditional use for dyspeptic complaints and reflux as a safety topic; a home tea may still irritate the oesophagus in sensitive people at high menthol concentration. Shorter steeping often keeps a fresher, lighter profile.
